Guess The Crafty Item - Revealed!

Well there were a few very clever guesses yesterday evening as to what my new exciting crafty item is and here is the answer:

A Promarker Storage Unit!!! :D :D :D Yay!

So, I had been saying I wanted a storage unit for my pens as I was getting annoyed with having them in plastic boxes and having to search around for colours. Well after a month or so of dropping hints we set to designing a very basic unit.

What you can't really see from the photo is that the box is 4" deep with a solid back and two lattice effect panels to hold the pens securely. This means it can be turned horizontally for transport to my boyfriends when I craft there over the weekend or if I go to crafty play days at a friends. Clever touch! ;)

Dad drilled all the holes, 180 of them! (for the basic collection, all Seasonal Limited Editions and a few extra just in case!) so we marked the grid out with a pencil as a guide, mounted them on the deep frame and it was pained white.
I am loving how easy it is to find my pens now! :D
No one except crafters would understand how exciting this is, so I hope you've enjoyed my little share. Ni. X

A CRAFT ROOM - At last!

.....Well strictly it's half a room but give me some time and I'll take it all over!!!
*insert evil laugh here!*

Good morning all!
With the fab news of me becoming a Docrafts demonstrator and my ever growing stash I have been allowed to remove the bed from one spare room and my fab and very handy Dad has put me up a workspace with the promise some shelves to follow!! :)

This first pic is before the bed was dismantled but shows my new work top, an off cut from when the kitchen was updated! See I'm being thrifty too, that way I have more pennies for new stash, lol!

Next is the pic of when I quickly and very roughly 'moved in' and was trying to find a home for some bits and pieces.

In case anyone is interested the square units are from Argos, they were a buy 2 get 1 free offer and then I added the small bookcase from the same range.

Lastly pic 3, taken Monday during my 1st demo prep session!
I had gone to get some lunch about 3pm after working from 11am and when I came back I looked into the room and thought it looked like a whirlwind (albeit a quite tidy one!) had stopped by, lol!

Hope you have enjoyed your lil sneaky peek into my new craft space, I am so lucky to finally have an area to call mine instead of crafting on the floor for everyone to trip over!

Phew!!!

Well yesterday was a busy day, spent a lot of it clearing up!
Took all the xmas cards down (and checked which I could use for DC recycle an xmas card challenge!), both trees, lights and other extra decs & packed them all away.

Argos were supposed to deliver my new storage bits but they didnt arrive till 7pm! Got all 4 pieces built today and already my crafty space is looking better, had forgotten what colour the carpet was!
I'm one of these people who has to be organised, I craft much better when everything is tidied up and has a place to live, make my creativity much clearer!
